The Umgababa holiday festival runs through the festive season in Umgababa, a short drive south of Amanzimtoti.

Planning your stay
- Getting there: Umgababa is 13 km from Cabana Mio, about 12 minutes by road without traffic. On event days, leave early and allow extra time for parking and road closures.
- Suggested dates: arrive Friday, 18 December and leave Friday, 25 December, so the event day is free of travel.
- Weather in December: days average 27°C and nights 20°C, with about 11 rainy days in the month. The sea is around 24°C.
- Daylight: the sun rises about 4:50 and sets about 18:53 in mid-December.
- Tickets: buy them from the organiser or its official ticket outlet; Cabana Mio does not sell event tickets.
- Room for everyone: each chalet sleeps six in three bedrooms, with a kitchen and a private braai. Groups book chalets side by side.
