The warm Agulhas current brings tropical fish, sharks and game fish close to the South Coast. Two of the best days out start within half an hour of the chalets.
Aliwal Shoal off Umkomaas is one of the best-known dive sites in the world, famous for the ragged-tooth sharks that gather there each winter. For anglers, charter boats launch through the surf along the coast for game fish and reef fish.
Both depend on the sea. Boats go out early and skippers cancel when it is rough, so leave a spare day in your stay if the trip matters to you.
